Kelly’s Story
Kelly is a 42-year-old mother of two who works at a local store. Although she had been employed at the same store for several years, her coworkers still saw her as aloof. She struggled with panic and with feeling uncomfortable outside her own home. Kelly also felt lonely and insecure and she just didn’t feel safe in public. Prior to coming to Centerstone, Kelly felt increasingly guilty as her daughters were growing older and she was unable to attend their extracurricular activities in the community.
Over the course of a few treatment sessions, Kelly worked with her therapist to set challenging, manageable goals. Eventually she was able to attend her daughters’ basketball and soccer games as well as initiate conversation with colleagues at work – all without a single panic attack. During her final session, Kelly reported that the treatment she received was valuable to her, and "If not for Centerstone, I would still be hiding at home and missing out on a lot of memories with my daughters."
“Centerstone has been nationally recognized for our cognitive behavioral therapy
(CBT) approach in treating panic and anxiety disorders.”
