The 2008 Report to the Community

Dear Friends...
During this past fiscal year two exemplary Indiana community behavioral healthcare provider organizations began operating as Centerstone. The ground breaking affiliation between the Center for Behavioral Health, headquartered in Bloomington, Indiana; Quinco Behavioral Health Systems, headquartered in Columbus, Indiana; and Centerstone, headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee is the culmination of a shared vision among nearly 50 board members and over 1,500 staff professionals. As the largest provider of community-based mental health and addiction services in America, it is our mission to lead in the prevention and cure of mental illness and addictions.
This has been an exciting year for all of us. As Centerstone, we pool our collective strengths, capabilities, and resources to improve our ability to develop new and better ways to provide the best possible treatment and care to consumers and local communities. In 2008 we secured nearly $5 million in new state and federal grants to expand treatment alternatives and improve the outcome of care for Indiana citizens. Expanded collaborative efforts with schools, physicians, the judicial system, and community leaders will allow us to offer a greater array of highly specialized mental health and addiction services.
Our transition will continue in the coming years as we provide for the behavioral health needs of Indiana with our evidence based treatments and cutting edge research, creating the powerful hope that makes a difference for our families and the health of each of our communities.
The merging of gifted leaders, skilled professionals, and the latest technological resources allows Centerstone to provide a full range of behavioral health treatment to families and individuals of all ages throughout south central Indiana. Thank you for the trust and confidence you place in us.
Together with their treatment team, many of your friends and neighbors have worked with Centerstone toward healing. Some of their stories are told in this report.
Sincerely,
Robert J. Williams, PhD
Chief Executive Officer
